Parsons Family Preserve located on Malbons Mills road is one of Skowhegan’s gems. Just about 2 miles from downtown Skowhegan, this lovely 27-acre field is home to an ongoing habitat project benefiting native pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

Come out, get to know this preserve, and help us take care of it while supporting the hard work that goes into stewarding this special property. We’ll move a large mat and sandbags previously used to stifle a nonnative grass species, digging up some invasive plants, and doing a little general tending to the restoration area. As an added bonus, you’ll have the opportunity to bring a plant home with you.
