Meet & Greet at Gilman Stream with Wire Bridge Sno Travelers

Join Somerset Woods Trustees and the Wire Bridge Sno Travelers for a community meet and greet at the future Parsons Woods on Gilman Stream in New Portland! This free, family‑friendly gathering is an opportunity to connect with neighbors, learn about an important local conservation project, and hear how collaborative community efforts are shaping the future of outdoor access and natural resource protection in our region.

Parsons Woods is a conservation effort that protects more than a mile of snowmobile trail and 1,900 feet of undeveloped stream frontage on Gilman Stream. This working forest provides paddling access, maintains essential links for the snowmobile trail network, and safeguards the delicate habitat of the Brook Floater, a rare freshwater mussel sensitive to changes in water quality.

Whether you’re passionate about snowmobiling, paddling, wildlife, or simply getting outdoors with friends and neighbors, this event is for you! We will have a fire going, so please bring a chair, bring a friend, and spend a couple of hours with us celebrating conservation in action while learning how local partners like the Wire Bridge Sno Travelers and Somerset Woods Trustees come together to protect land for community benefit.
