Please join district forester and Maine Woodland Owners Upper Kennebec Valley chapter leader Jason Hilton for a harvest tour at Coburn Woods in Skowhegan. We will tour a harvest being conducted by Somerset Woods on their conservation property off the Russell Road in Skowhegan. We will cover topics such as selecting a harvest system that will work best to meet your goals, harvesting near vernal pools, road building for access, working around hiking trails, and much more.
Presenters will be forester Jon Doty of Two Trees Forestry who is overseeing the harvest as well as district forester Jason Hilton with the Maine Forest Service. Somerset Woods staff will also be on hand.. Parking is limited so if you are able to carpool, please do so.
