Trail Layout

  • Wesserunsett Stream Preserve Evergreen Dr. Skowhegan, ME 04976 (map)

Join Rachel Cheatham-McFadden as we determine the final route layout for relocation of Wesserunsett Stream Preserve’s Yellow trail. We will check grades to ensure the new hiking trail meets user-friendly and environmental standards.

Participants should expect to hike about 1 mile, starting and stopping as needed. Should the objective be met more quickly than expected, participants may have the option to lay out other sections for this preserve.

The layout work will be implemented by volunteers on National Trails Day, June 7.

This event is open to individuals of all ages! Participants should expect a hike through the puckerbrush, but we will not be doing any physical labor. All participants should expect to sign a waiver upon arrival.

To participate, sign up for this free event email Rachel directly at (rachel@somersetwoodstrustees.org). We ask that all participants RSVP.

Directions: From the downtown Skowhegan areas, follow Route 2 to Malbons Mills Road. Take a left onto Malbons Mills, heading northeast. After about a mile, take a right into the neighborhood on Robin Street. Robin Street will turn into Robin Court shortly after the turn; stay on Robin Court. You will then take a right onto Evergreen Drive. Continue down Evergreen Drive until the pavement ends and you see a blue and green "Somerset Woods Trustees" diamond sign. Continue straight to the end of the road. Park alongside the road.
